Resourcing Christian Care Homes

Here at Christians in Care we are committed to inspiring and encouraging Christians who work across the care sector.  Some of whom work in Christian Care Homes where they provide compassionate Christ-like care and support to people living in the care home.  Pilgrims’ Friend Society, (the charity that launched Christians in Care), want to share what it means to be a Christian and to live and work in a care home that is rooted in Christian values.  So, together, we created a video that explains just that! It’s now used within their job opportunities webpage for prospective employees, used as part of a warm and welcoming induction, and all staff across Pilgrims’ Friend Society have been asked to have a look to help shape and share this vision and understanding. 

We would love to see this video used in every care home rooted in Christian values across the country, so please do feel free to use this in your setting.

Also, we’re keen to see Christ-like care not only be provided to the people in our care, but also to colleagues/employees.  So, we’ve devised a reflective tool that you can use or adapt to support debriefing with staff after a difficult or celebratory event in the care home.  Again, please feel free to use this: Debrief Template (click to download)
